The Gürzenich Choir Cologne of 1827 has realised a project in cooperation with the Thusnelda-Gymnasium Köln-Deutz under the motto “1700 years of Jewish life in Germany”. On the occasion of this project, the event “The Promise of Living” will take place on Sunday, 07.11.2021 at 17.00 in the Trinitatiskirche at Filzengraben 6 in Cologne on Heumarkt.
For this occasion, the Gürzenich Choir has chosen a number of works by important artists of the Jewish faith, whose influence on German culture was and still is outstanding. These include works by Jaques Offenbach, Max Bruch and Salomone Rossi. Works by Franz Schubert, Aaron Copland, Eric Whitacre and the unforgettable Kurt Weill will also be performed.
